I’ve chosen to put a selection of work for assignment two into one post. Mostly because I want to save myself some hard work so I can crack on with new blog posts/Etsy work/assignment three.
Christmas is over, the New Year is in full swing, and I feel the need to quickly clear the decks in order to move forward.
Essentially, assignment two involved moving from our initial drawings into stitching. One project had us creating base papers for our stitched interpretations of previous drawings. We had to manipulate paper using a variety of techniques. Most of the paper I used for this exercise was A4 in size, I stuck to watercolour and copier paper.

Using those prepared samples we had to cut the papers into smaller pieces to stitch on.

The final step was to take a drawing and use it as inspiration for three sewn pieces using elements that we’d touched on in the previous steps.
