Sketchbook

Disclaimer: This blog post might seem a bit pointless but I’m trying to get into the habit of posting regularly. I recently read this post from stuartdanker.com (check him out, he’s funny!) about consistency especially in blogging and it made a lot of sense to me about a lot of things really. I created a couple of non negotiable tasks for my week and it’s giving me a bit of structure! So, it’s wednesday my dudes, which means I blog.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I’ve never kept a sketchbook in my life. I’ve bought loads and probably drawn on a page or two and then given up. Projects and assignments have always been planned with several lists. It’s taken me quite a while to get into a daily sketching practice. Well, almost daily! I know with practice my sketching skills will improve, hopefully. I’m at a point now where I have a post it note on my laptop telling me to keep documenting my ideas in my sketchbook and I’ve started to reach for it every time I’m working. Progress. At this point my life is held together with post it notes and paper clips. Imagine a world without them. Make that into a horror film, Jordan Peele!
So here’s a few pages of recent scribbles 🙂
  1. As someone who’s never kept a sketchbook and rarely draws, I am in the process of filling up my sketchbook too! Let’s finish them together. I too have doodle-y images like yours, though mine’s uglier. Stream-of-consciousness doodling, I like to call it. So therapeutic, and I get to listen to podcasts at the same time.
    Thanks so much for the mention. I’m so honoured!
    1. Hey! Thanks for your lovely comment. Good luck with your sketchbook, if you’re comfortable to post updates on your blog it would be great to see how you get on! 😊
