It’s been a fortnight of restarts.

I restarted my blog (time will tell if it sticks!)

I’ve gone back to trying to learn Japanese. I’ve restarted a Domestika course I started last year. And, after over a month of roofers having ladders and scaffolding in my garden, I’ve gone back to trying to sort that out. Everything I’d cut back several weeks ago has come back with a vengeance!

I’ve also created a dedicated space to journal and paint/collage. It still feels weird to have a corner of my dining room full of art supplies piled up but its finally sinking in (after several years!) that it is my house and I can do what I like. If I want my dining room to have a double purpose that’s fine. There is no-one here to judge anymore.

It also feels weird thinking about doing more on the internet again. Everywhere I go is full of ads, ads disguised as personal stories, sponsored posts everywhere, and AI. Part of me wants to stay off it. But I also appreciate it’s nice to have a corner of it to share things. At the end of the day it comes down to making those choices that align with your own philosophies I guess. So I’ll be plodding on and seeing what works for me and where I will pitch up my online tent. I’m looking into alternatives to Etsy and Pinterest at the moment. I’m sure a very long blog post will come about Etsy!
